Terps for Change is committed to connecting the university with the local community through sustained, collaborative, and meaningful community service-learning. By exploring the root causes through critical reflection and meaningful dialogue, we seek to better understand the systemic complexities of social issues and the action steps we can take to address them.

Terps for Change volunteers are required to:

    • make a minimum commitment of one academic semester
    • volunteer at least 2-3 hours per week
    • attend and actively engage in weekly dialogue events that focus on critical reflection, deeper understanding of service-learning, and movement towards social change

The application for Terps for Change can be found on TerpLink and is open to any UMD student.  All participants will need to complete an application and schedule an interview with a Terps for Change intern.

1. Read more about our Community Partners and choose where you would like to volunteer!

2. Fill out the Terps for Change Volunteer Application!

3. A Terps for Change intern will reach out to you about scheduling an interview.
