AAPI Community Retreat
The APA Community Retreat occurs in the summer right before the beginning of the fall semester and is co-hosted by the Asian American Student Union. The two-day retreat is an opportunity for members of the AAPI community to get to know each other, learn about issues in the AAPI community and explore their own AAPI identities.
FUEL Leadership Conference
FUEL (Forging, Understanding, Empowering, Leading) is an annual conference in October that aims to inform and open dialogue about the history and current issues facing the Asian Pacific American community through a themed focus. The conference includes educational workshops and featured speakers. *potentially delete*
Maryland Leadership Institute
The Maryland Leadership Institute (MLI) is an opportunity for students to learn about current political hot topics and how they affect Asian Americans today. It spans five sessions covering issues such as immigration, fiscal policy & government, healthcare, and networking. Students have an opportunity to obtain one course credit by attending all five sessions.
Asian Pacific American Heritage Month
Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM) occurs in April and celebrates the AAPI community through a themed focus. The month encompasses cultural events, educational workshops, small group discussions, celebrations, and performances.
