The Turtle Camp Leadership & Service Experience is a five-day leadership program for incoming students that occurs prior to the start of fall semester classes. During Turtle Camp, students have the opportunity to connect with other incoming students who are passionate about leadership, explore leadership through the lens of Washington, DC and College Park, and learn more about what it means to be a leader at the University of Maryland. There will be guest speakers, both large and small group activities on campus and in Washington, DC, local community service projects, and low-ropes course activities. The following provides important information:
- Turtle Camp takes place from Sunday, August 21 to Thursday, August 25, 2016 on the University of Maryland campus.
Any incoming undergraduate freshmen or transfer student is eligible to apply.
The deadline to submit an application is Friday, June 17, 2016 by 11:59pm.
The Turtle Camp program fee is $200 which includes housing accommodations, transportation, meals, and materials.
- Students will be notified of their standing in the program no later than Friday, July 8, 2016.
