Terrapin Leadership Institute

The Terrapin Leadership Institute (TLI) is a 4-5 week workshop series designed to develop student self-awareness, foster their self-efficacy for leadership, and understand the individual's role within the leadership process. The workshop is a low-commitment, high intensity series that is meant to accommodate the student's busy schedule. In addition, there is no cost to participate in TLI!

TLI Introductory Track (5 weeks): Perfect for emerging leaders looking to gain skills of effective leadership, including developing a personal leadership style, defining passion and purpose, and exploring ethics and integrity.  No prior formal leadership experience necessary!  Choose from ONE of four weekly meeting times:

Tuesdays from 4:30-6:00pm (Feb. 23-Mar. 29)
Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00pm (Feb. 23-Mar. 29)
Wednesdays from 3:00-4:30pm (Feb. 24-Mar. 30)
Thursdays from 5:30-7:00 (Feb. 25-Mar. 31)

TLI Plus Track - Advanced Leadership (5 weeks): Designed for students with previous exposure to leadership theory, styles, and experiences, the TLI Plus track dives into issues regarding identity, conflict management, strengths-based leadership, and more to help student leaders refine their leadership styles.
**NOTE: Participants MUST have completed a previous Maryland LEAD program (TLI Intro, Maryland Leadership Conference, or Turtle Camp) to register for this track.

Tuesdays 7:00-8:30pm (Feb. 23-Mar. 29)
Wednesdays 2:00-3:30pm (Feb. 24-Mar. 30)

TLI for College Park Scholars Track (5 weeks): Uniquely for the College Park Scholars Living-Learning Program, this introduction to leadership will allow students to develop their personal leadership styles amidst a Scholars-specific context. Students will explore topics such as leadership styles, passion and purpose, and ethics and integrity.

Thursdays 7:00-8:30pm (Feb. 25-Mar. 31)

TLI Career Track (4 weeks): This NEW track is designed to equip students with skills necessary to lead in a new job setting. Perfect for juniors or seniors preparing for their first job, or students involved in serious, long-term internships. Additionally, students can participate in BOTH the Career Track and an Intro, Plus, or Scholars track each semester.

Thursdays 2:00-3:30pm (Apr. 7 - Apr. 28)
