University of Maryland
College Park, MD 20742

Terps for Change is committed to connecting the university with the local community through sustained, collaborative, and meaningful community service-learning. By exploring the root causes through critical reflection and meaningful dialogue, we seek to better understand the systemic complexities of social issues and the action steps we can take to address them.

Terps for Change volunteers are required to make a minimum commitment of one academic semester. Students are expected to volunteer at least 2-3 hours per week. Additionally, student volunteers are expected to attend and actively engage in our weekly dialogue events that focus on critical reflection and deeper understanding of service-learning and movement towards social change.

To Apply

The application for Terps for Change can be found on OrgSync and is open to any UMD student.  All participants will need to complete an application and schedule an interview with a Terps for Change intern.

1. Read more about our Community Partners and choose where you would like to volunteer!

2. Log into OrgSync and complete the application form!

3. Work with a Terps For Change intern to schedule an interview!

We kindly request that students only apply if they are 100% sure they can fulfill the commitments of Terps for Change volunteers for the entire semester. This includes volunteering 2-3 hours a week at site and participating in weekly dialogues. After applying via OrgSync, you will receive a confirmation e-mail to the address provided and staff will contact you about an interview.
