The Graduate Student Lounge is a small lounge and resource center for graduate students in the Stamp. It is conveniently located one floor above the food court, yet removed from the crowds and the noise. The Graduate Lounge is part of the Graduate Student Suite that also includes the offices of Graduate Student Government and Graduate Student Life. The lounge is open to graduate students weekdays during regular business hours.

Free Coffee Thursdays
Every Thursday while the university is open from 9:00am-4:00pm come to the Graduate Student Lounge to enjoy a free cup of coffee, tea or cocoa and interact with fellow graduate students, GSL staff and Graduate Student Government members. The lounge is the one of the few places on campus designed just for graduate students. Free Coffee Thursdays is just one way we strive to show our appreciation throughout the semester for the hard work and commitment of UMD Grads.
Directions
The Lounge is located in 1121 on the first floor of the Stamp. It is located at the end of a short hallway almost directly above the Chick-Fil-A. It is also located across the hall from the Event Services Office. Look for signs in the Stamp that give directions to the "Graduate Student Suite".
Stamp Reading Room
Newly finished room on the left corner side of the Stamp (one closest to Cole Field House & behind the Jim Henson statue). The Reading Room is a large quiet space dedicated to reading and study. Wireless and LAN line connections and several daily newspapers are available. Currently, the easiest Stamp entrance is the one across from Cole Field House.
Laptop Lending Program in the Stamp
University of Maryland is offering a laptop lending program to its UMCP students, allowing them to use laptops with wireless internet cards. Bring your student ID and one other form of ID (e.g. drivers license) to the Information Desk at the Stamp. Laptops can be checked out for up to 2 hours at a time. For questions call 4-DESK.
Rent a Locker in the Stamp
Lockers are available in the Stamp for extra on-campus storage. There are 3 rental periods: Fall semester, Spring semester and Summer. Each period costs $20* or pay $50 to rent for the entire year (Sept.-Aug). Lockers can be rented at the Hoff Theater Ticket Office in the Stamp.
The Hoff Theater
Located in the Stamp, the Hoff Theater is the campus movie venue. Equipped with 550 plush seats, Dolby digital surround, and a full concession stand, the Hoff shows sneak previews, films before they hit video and other popular movies. Prices are $3 for current Maryland students, faculty, staff, alumni, senior citizens, and children under 13 ($2.50 for matinee) and $5.50 for the general public.
