How can I get involved?
The best way to get involved is to join the American Indian Student Union (AISU)- additional information can be found under the Student Organizations tab. You can also volunteer to be a part of the Native American Indian Heritage Month (NAIHM) planning committee at the beginning of the fall semester by contacting Naliyah Kaya (Nkaya@umd.edu) and may consider taking the following courses:

Do I have to identify as Native American Indian to get involved?
No! All are welcomed who would like to better understand the historical and modern conditions of Native American Indian/Indigenous people and to experience and celebrate the native cultures of the Americas.
