Yvette Lerma is the Coordinator for Latin@ Student Involvement and Advocacy. Born and raised in the border town of Nogales, Arizona, Yvette is interested in work focused on intersectional identities, educational access and student success, and immigration rights. She holds a B.S. in Sociology with minors in Latino/a Studies and Gender & Sexuality from the Pennsylvania State University. Yvette recently received her M.A. in Higher Education with a concentration in College Student Development from the University of Denver. As an Inclusive Excellence Graduate Fellow for the Center of Multicultural Excellence, she advised the council of identity based organizations and co-developed their leadership development retreat. She plans to continue her work on behalf of social justice issues facing students in higher education.
