What is MOSAIC?

Retreat objectives include:

2. Provide opportunities to learn about systems of power, privilege, and oppression;
3. Provide opportunities to engage in socio-cultural dialogues and have substantial interactions across difference;
4. Develop students’ abilities and intentions to

• Engage in efforts to promote social change
• Collaborate with others
• Interact with individuals from various identity groups and backgrounds

What is expected out of me?

Participants should come prepared to actively engage in dialogue by sharing views, attitudes, beliefs and experiences openly and honestly. The retreat requires an environment in which students will be able to share and express themselves freely. Participants are asked to contribute to this and agree on a mutual set of standards to help them do so. With genuine dialogue comes inherent conflict, but also the possibility of unexpected learning and enormous growth.

Participants will be engaged the following dates:
• Pre-retreat evening gathering: Friday, February 19, 2016
• MOSAIC retreat: Saturday, February 20- Sunday, February 21, 2016

There is a $25 participant fee. Students are encouraged to seek out campus sponsors to cover the cost of the participant fee. However, do not allow the fee to be a barrier. Contact if this may be the case and we will find a solution for you!
