Community Involvement (CI) Interns advocate for service on and off campus and act as liaisons between University of Maryland students interested in service opportunities and community partners in the Maryland/DC metro area seeking volunteers.
Community Involvement Interns are a function of Community Service-Learning (CSL) within the Leadership & Community Service-Learning in the Adele H. Stamp Student Union. We are responsible for coordinating/managing the Terps for Change program.
We place University of Maryland students with local community partners who share a passion about specific social issues. In addition to helping address community-identified needs, we seek to create change by learning through meaningful dialogues, and challenging each other to think critically about the systems within which we function. We are passionate about understanding the complexities of social issues and are inspired to collaborate with community partners to affect positive social change.
