TerpService Days are one-time days of service targeted at the broad campus community. Students with significant or no experience in service-learning are welcome to participate. Student groups also enjoy participating in the service days.
The purpose of the TerpService Days is to provide a welcoming and positive experience for UMD students to engage in service. By providing them with a meaningful service-learning experience, we increase the likelihood that the students will become more committed to service during their undergraduate career. Additionally, students become more connected to and mindful of the community around them. The program consists of Service Day Coordinators, who lead pre-service education, service and volunteering, as well as reflection activities.
HOW TO REGISTER
Registration is electronic and open to any UMD student, student group, faculty/staff, or class and includes a light breakfast and lunch. All participants will participate in a brief educational orientation prior to their service experience and a reflection with their service team, afterwards.
1. Read more about our Community Partners and choose where you would like to volunteer!
2. Log into OrgSync and register through our events page!
We kindly request that students only register if they are 100% sure they can participate for the entire day of service, which lasts from 9:00am - 3:30pm. After registering via OrgSync, you will receive a confirmation e-mail to the address provided. A few days before the day of service that you have selected to attend, your Service Day Coordinator will send out an additional e-mail with more information on what to expect.
