INFORMATION DESK

The Information Desk is located on the first floor of the Stamp. The Information Desk strives to serve the diverse needs and interests of the campus community by offering a multitude of services to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors within the building and campus-wide.  We offer general information, including directions and phone numbers; lend out laptops to students; information for public transportation options; house the Stamp’s lost and found; offer information regarding events; and help disseminate important information about the University. 

The Information Desk is open during all building hours and can be reached at 301-314-DESK (3375).

LAPTOP LENDING

University of Maryland is excited to offer a laptop lending program to its UMCP students, allowing the usage of laptops for their academic needs. Just bring your student ID and one other form of ID (e.g. drivers license) to the Information Desk at the Stamp Student Union. You will also have to fill out a Borrower's Responsibility Form at www.thestamp.umd.edu/laptops. Laptops can be checked out for up to 2 hours at a time.

LOST AND FOUND

The Information Desk handles lost and found items for the Stamp and the campus. Items found on campus or in the Stamp can be brought to the Information Desk. Call or visit the Information Desk if you have lost an item; you must be able to specifically identify the lost item.  In order to retrieve a lost item you must also present a valid UMD ID or government issued ID. 

The lost and found is emptied at the end of each month.  Remaining valuable items are brought to the Campus Police.

The University of Maryland Department of Public Safety houses the overall campus lost and found.  To inquire about a lost item please visit the University of Maryland Police Department website or call at (301) 405-5730. 

POSTING POLICY

Student organizations and campus departments are encouraged to advertise their events within the campus community.  The Stamp offers two locations to place flyers and handbills advertising on-campus events.  The Student Involvement Suite bulletin board; and the bulletin board in the basement level of Stamp.  Due to the volume of events on-campus, posting on the bulletin boards and flyer rack is limited to two weeks prior to the event date.
